Not everyone has the same needs for 3G mobiles, which is why it is important to identify your needs and choose the right provider. For instance, someone who is in metropolitan locations all the time would want to prioritise value on plans over network reach. 3G in Australia has a decent amount of network reach, but only a few providers of plans for 3G mobiles provide good service to country users and they tend to charge a high amount for this network reach.
Not all service providers offer good value in every area. For instance, Vodafone 3G may have some good prices on 3G Internet, but their highest speeds are only available in very limited locations. Telstra 3G have the fastest network and the largest coverage - unfortunately, they also charge very high prices.
Think about what you need before looking for providers and plans for 3G mobiles. If you start your search without knowing what you want, you may find yourself convinced to take on a plan that offers exceptional value in many areas - just not the areas you need it to.
